Post-game update:- Red Sox 4, Twins 4, 10 innings
- Terry Francona talking about the fact that the Twins brought the Mayor’s Cup (given to the winner of the most spring training games between the teams): “They might have to split that thing in half.”

The ultimate cross-promotion alert (actual first part of today’s story in the Eagle-Tribune):
Manny Ramirez talked yesterday รข?? to Bill and Rose Quayle.
At about 11 a.m. yesterday, the kindly elderly couple from Westlake, Ohio was let through the restraining ropes on Field No. 5 at the Red Sox minor league training complex. And with the admittance, [...]
Here’s the real story from what happened on the day Manny arrived in camp … I didn’t go see an albino raccoon. Truth be told, it was the one day I could see my family on the other side of the state so the Manny drama was going to have to wait on this blog. [...]
This just in…
Manny Ramirez has arrived at Red Sox camp three days earlier than expected. He is in the process of taking a team physical but isn’t expected to talk to the media today. His agent Greg Genske is expected to hold a press conference sometime this morning.
Will update as things unfold…
Going to take tomorrow off. Trying to choose between going to see the albino raccoon, the venomous snake, or the Thomas Edison Museum. Whatever it is it won’t involve Edison Ave. or the Red Sox minor league training facility.

Cross-promotion alert: Story in the Eagle-Tribune today has Curt Schilling talking about how his new venture, Green Monster Games, resulted an unusual offseason for him. He touches on what his schedule was and how he might have done things different.
“Sure, there were things I would have done differently the next time from a time management [...]

It turns out that Twinkies were originally supposed to be filled with a banana-based substance, but because all of the ships used to import bananas were being commandeered to transfer supplies to [...]
Just off field No. 2 where Daisuke Matsuzaka threw 44 pitches in a batting practice session. Hitting against the hurler was Bobby Scales, Kevin Cash, Luis Jiminez, and Jacoby Ellsbury.
“Impressive,” Ellsbury told me on the way to another round of BP. “His fastball got going as he went along. But his breaking balls were really [...]
Matt Clement talked to the media for 41 minutes just now. Some highlights:
- Posted a football card of Drew Brees on his son’s wall for motivation. It was referenced more than once that Brees had a similar surgery as Clement and obviously came through it in good shape.
- Plans on throwing for the first time [...]
On to the questions while I count the minutes to be introduced up-close with a venomous snake …
Cross-promotion alert! Check out the story in the Eagle-Tribune today on the Curt Schilling situation. Brett Close, the president of Green Monster Games, has an intersting take.
- A lot of questions have revolved around the Schilling situation. Just [...]
