Merry Whatever

I guess among the things we’ll be bidding farewell as 2008 draws to a close is the Christmas party. Not the party, of course, just the label. Yes, we’ve been trained to say “Happy Holidays” now for the better part of a decade, so as not to offend blah blah blah. But it seemed like the Christmas party was still hanging on. Not so much, apparently. I heard about more than a dozen parties this past weekend, and all but one was called a Holiday party. The other one was called a Glow Gala.
So, start getting ready. In a few years - maybe 10, maybe less - we won’t have Dec. 25 off any more. And then it will take less than a generation for people to remember why we even had it off in the past.
Hope that gives all the diversity disciples a nice warm feeling.

I used to say "Merry Christmas." Now I say "Happy Holidays" just to piss off people are are stupid enough to think there's a "war" against Christmas. Just because Fox News used it as a cheap ratings ploy doesn't mean you have to believe it.

Oh please, don't test my patience. It started with Madeline Murray OHare and has been amplified by court case after court case. There is a war and it is being won by those who preach about freedom of religion but don't shirk from taking the right away from someone else.

Mr. Carlson: Evidence? Examples? Proof? Nah, why bother when you can just say stuff, right?

Since you specifically cite O'Hair, I'm thinking that you have bought into this urban legend:

Just in case you're unclear on the concept, an urban legend is something that isn't true, though some people believe it is.

Exactly what reality world are you from? What exactly isn't true? I watched her well financed campaign to get prayer out of the classrooms. How much reality do I need?
