Lots of stories this week on how President-elect Barack Obama is going to have to do something about global warming in a hurry, because we’re already tipping past the tipping point, according to all credible scientists.
The most interesting factoid came late in these apocalyptic reports, however, where it noted that 2008 was going to be slightly cooler than 2007. But don’t get complacent. This only illustrates, the story said, how fast the world is warming.
Uh, OK. What I’m wondering is, what would it mean if 2008 had been warmer than 2007. Would that have meant the world is cooling?

Must have been Nobel peace prize winner Al Gore who couldn't even win in his own home state in 2000 who said that. of course his words carry a lor of weight in the scientific community. He's done a lot of scientific research to win the peace prize

Perhaps the two of you would like to share with us your credentials, given what appears to be your deep and impressive expertise in atmospheric science. Gore has never claimed to have any scientific credentials. Rather, he has served his country and the world by publicizing the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which won the Nobel Peace Prize along with him.

And what do you suppose is causing the polar ice cap to melt? Global cooling? Get a clue.

    Reality Based Critic:
I neither implied nor could anyone with a shred of intelligence infer that i had a deep and impressive expertise in atmospheric science. I was poking fum at the complete lack of logic and common sense (as was Mr. Amerding) exhibited by many so called experts in the field. One of the problems is that there are as many experts against the global warming inevetability as there are for it,
  • Reality Based Critic
Mr. Carlson: The fact that you believe the tiny number of scientists who deny the reality of global warming is equal to the overwhelming number who accept it, document it and explain it every day says all that needs to be said.

In what way were you "poking fum" at "so called experts"? All you did was take a shot at Al Gore. Do explain.

Gosh, I wonder if there could be a silent majority here.
    Re pokinf fun and Gore.
    "nuff said"

I think Jim and Taylor are also under the impression that the world is flat.

I cannot speak for Mr. Amerding but for my part given that our so called public servants have prven to me that NONE of them can be trusted, I will have to wait until there is agreement from a credible source before i'll think of it as anything but a weather cycle. If one needs reasons for my attitude, you need look at the town of Hamilton where the police including the chief, and most of the town management are apparently crooked as hell. The state with DiMasi, Mrzilli and Wilkerson, and who knows how many others. The Federal Government(I think George W. Bush may be the only honorable person there) Not too mention the great State of Illinois who may be the biggest vchallenger to Massachusetts for corrupt government.
    GOD BLESS AMERICA
  • oh brother!
so there you have it: the bush worshipping retard from the right concludes that global warming cannot be happening because the cops in hamilton are crooks! thanks for the enlightenment.

oh brother, oh brother, nice talking to you. very intelligent comment

    Typical moonbat reaction....
Can't come up with a rational, sane answer so I must revert to name calling and personal attacks...

    It's getting old, enough already...

If these climate experts can predict the demise of the polar bear and ice caps, why haven't any of them been able to get the weather right within a 24 hour period? When that happens, maybe I'll listen, but until then.....
