Come on down!

Though he remains a serious contender for the GOP nomination, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has become a favorite target of his fellow politicians, media pundits and late-night talk show hosts. David Letterman has a new segment devoted to the Mittster, and his testy exchange with AP reporter Glen Johnson (formerly of the Salem News, Lowell Sun and Boston Globe) last week, drew many hits on YouTube. See that video here.
But one of the funniest comes from Rick Horowitz, commentator for Milwaukee Public Television, featuring Mitt as car salesman. You can view that clip here.

So what Mr. Benton is saying is it's "business as usual" during the current presidential race. Let's not debate or offer solutions to the country's problems, but instead, let's make fun of the candidates.

yawn...............wake me up when it's time to vote....

The video of Romneys confrontation with the reporter speaks for itself.
The parody from "public television" is what one would expect from that.

You know, the reason Mitt Romney is viewed with suspicion and the belief that he is a political opportunistic is a problem entirely of his own making.

    Here's a a case in point.

Back in 1994 when I was the director of AIDS services for a large non-profit on the North Shore, I attended a very swanky fundraiser in Boston for an AIDS service organization known as Community Servings.

The organization offered high quality, nutritious meals to people in metro Boston who were housebound as a result of AIDS.

One of the event's big patrons was Joan Parker, the wife of mystery writer Robert Parker.

The event started out at the Westin in Copley Place where dozens of trolleys lined up to take donors to dinner at some of the city's finest restaurants.
It was the one, and probably only time, I will ever eat Locke Ober.

At the Westin, I was chatting with Joan Parker when in strolled Mitt and Ann Romney.

Mitt was gearing up his senate campaign against Ted Kennedy.
I stood next to Joan Parker when Mitt approached, the consummate schmoozer.

I overheard him say to Joan and several other people, that he would be the "most gay friendly" official ever elected from Massachusetts if he won the Senate race.

    I heard it.

What a difference fourteen years can make!!

Matinee Mitt Romney's problem is he has no core convictions. Progressives have long known it, and growing numbers of true conservatives are waking up to that reality.

So, if he's being lampooned in the media, he only has himself to blame.

As far as I'm concerned, Romney was a carpet bagger when he came to Mass. and deposed Jane Swift, I think the sole reason he ran for Governor was that he saw it as his final step before the presidency.

    I agree again sir.

I noticed mick is taking on a young fresh look and those cheerleaders get very close. I think we should keep an eye on him as his wife gets older. If he gets in we dont want to create another Hiterly Clinton.

I forgot to say in post 4 above that there is nothing progressive about a liberal and I object to anyone with a liberal bent using that term. They have taken this country back about 80 years and I don't know how they could get anymore regressive.
