Ogonowski responds

Republican Jim Ogonowski is out with an apology — and a shot at his Democratic opponent.
Responding to Niki Tsongas’ demand that he repudiate comments made by Republican leader David Boehner regarding the “small price” Americans are paying to achieve its goals in Iraq, Ogonowski did just that Tuesday.
In a letter to the Ohio congressman, Ogonowski stated:

Your recent comment… was wrong and you owe an apology to our servicemen and women, their families, and the American people.

But then there’s this in the press release announcing his rebuke of Boehner:

Niki Tsongas puts party before people. This was evident when Governor Deval Patrick said last week that the 9/11 attacks were due to a “failure of human understanding.” According to the State House News Service (9/13), Patrick declined to apologize on the Eagan and Braude show Thursday afternoon. An Editorial in The Lowell Sun (9/14) said that the Governor “makes it seem as if America and the Americans who died on 9/11 were responsible for what happened.” And what did Niki Tsongas do? According to the Lowell Sun (9/13), Niki Tsongas “defended the governor’s understanding of the impact of the Sept. 11 attacks on Americans.” Niki was flat wrong to defend the governor.

Stay tuned.

The only failure of human understanding on September 11, 2001 was on the part of Osama bin Laden, his henchman, 18 terrorists and apparently the governor. Apology is not what the governor owes, that would be his resignation, impeachment or recall.
