District Attorney Jon Blodgett must have felt like he was walking into a potential minefield this morning when he showed up for the swearing-in of new Beverly police Chief Mark Ray.
Just the day before, his office had announced it would be seeking a criminal complaint against one of Ray’s officers in the January crash in which a Beverly woman was killed when her parked car was struck by a police cruiser. See story here.
But Blodgett received a polite reception from the assembled officers as he offered his congratulations to Ray and made some brief comments about his leadership also entails accountability.
