Christopher Smith came to The Eagle-Tribune in Sept. 2009 after spending 22 months as a sportswriter for the Southeast Missourian in Cape Girardeau, Mo. where he covered mostly high school sports.
Smith earned his master's degree in newspaper, magazine and online journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He earned his bachelors in English right down the street at Merrimack College.
He has covered everything from Little League to the Boston Red Sox for The Eagle-Tribune and has written stories on home run king Jose Bautista, Yankees closer Mariano Rivera and several Red Sox players.
Smith blogs on the Red Sox and Major League Baseball.
