Former Salem High and Boston College star pitcher Terry Doyle, who recently signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox, used play with NL MVP catcher Buster Posey on the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

“My first summer I played with him he was our starting shortstop,” Doyle said. “He was an all-league shortstop and then the next year he was our catcher and an all-league catcher. He’s a great guy. He really, really works hard. The numbers he’s putting up and the accolades he’s getting, he’s earned every bit of it.”

Doyle and Posey were two of 19 players from the 2007 Cape Cod League champion Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox to be chosen in the 2008 MLB draft.
