Boston has offered starter Edwin Jackson a one-year deal in the $5 to $6 million range, according to The Boston Globe.
Jackson, who is a Scott Boras client, reportedly is seeking twice the money offered to him by the Red Sox.
The 28-year-old Jackson went 12-9 with a 3.79 ERA in 32 games, 31 starts, last season for both the White Sox and Cardinals. He is 60-60 is in his nine-year career with a 4.46 ERA.
