The Red Sox have made a one-year offer to right-hander Edwin Jackson according to ESPN.com and they also have made a significant offer to right-handed hurler Roy Oswalt, according to CBSSports.com.
The 28-year-old Jackson went 12-9 with a 3.79 ERA in 32 games, 31 starts, last season for both the White Sox and Cardinals.
He is 60-60 is in his nine-year career with a 4.46 ERA.
Oswalt, 34, went 9-12 with a 3.69 ERA in 23 starts for the Phillies last year.
Oswalt is 159-93 with a 3.21 ERA in 11 seasons.
