GM Theo Epstein said that starting pitcher Josh Beckett has been attacking the offseason.
“He’s been attacking the offseason and working really hard,” Epstein said. “He’s been getting in good shape and doing workouts. He has a personal train that he hired. The trainer and (Red Sox trainer) Mike Reinold have been in very frequent contact. And Mike also made a visit recently to see him as he does with so many other pitchers. He is raring to go.
“I don’t know how new (the trainer) is but the routine is a little bit different and he and Mike have been talking a lot about that.”
