Tom Rath, a senior advisor to Mitt Romney, is calling for John McCain’s campaign vice-chairman to resign for saying the Romney campaign might have been behind the telephone push-poll which delivered disparaging comments about Romney’s Mormon religion and unfavorably contrasted his military service to McCain’s record.
“A half-hearted apology cannot undo these reckless comments,” Rath said. “This election should be about issues and not baseless accusations, and I am calling on Senator McCain’s New Hampshire Vice Chairman to immediately step down so that we can all move forward.”
