According to the men’s magazine GQ, yes. Ron Paul was called the “Dark Horse of the Year” in the December issue that hit newsstands yesterday. It’s the magazine’s 12th annual Men of the Year issue.
Paul was selected from a group of 38 entertainers, athletes, politicians and other icons. He was the only 2008 presidential candidate to be honored.
“According to GQ, Dr. Paul is the dark horse to win the presidency, and with support steadily rising each day, we are moving closer to winning the Republican Party nomination,” campaign spokesman Jesse Benton said.
Meanwhile, Paul has his fingers crossed that his wife will win another magazine competition | Yankee Magazine’s First-In-The-Nation Cookie Primary. His wife, Carol Paul, has entered her apricot-coconut balls.
Seven Republicans and six Democrats have entered the race. The recipes are listed on Yankee Magazine’s Web site for people to read, try and vote on until Dec. 14. On that day, a group of culinary students will bake all of the recipes for a panel of judges to sample. The judges votes combined with the online results will determine the winner.
