Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson took turns Wednesday showing who’s tough on illegal immigration. Romney offered a left-handed compliment to New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer for backing off a plan to give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.
“It took long enough to convince him,” Romney said.
Meanwhile, Thompson unveiled his new 30-second TV spot, “No Amnesty.” Prospective voters can see it on the air only in Iowa, however.
