U.S. Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign today released a new television ad, entitled “Woodstock,” in New Hampshire. The ad takes a swipe at Sen. Hillary Clinton’s spending requests, including $1 million for a Woodstock Museum, $500,000 for a “Virtual Herbarium” and $1.2 million for research on growing grapes.
McCain Campaign Communications Director Jill Hazelbaker stated, “Senator Clinton is apparently still living in the ‘Age of Aquarius’ rather than in an age of fiscal responsibility.”
This is the second Woodstock-related ad McCain has released this week in New Hampshire. They came from statements McCain made at the GOP debate in Florida on Sunday, when McCain said he was “tied up” (a reference to his captivity in North Vietnam) during Woodstock, which he was sure was a cultural and pharmaceutical event.
