Jackie Dodd, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Chris Dodd, says daughters, Grace, 5, and Christina, 2, are getting a different idea about parades now that their father is running for president.
“They actually have done little town parades in Connecticut, but not a big parade like Des Moines,” she said. “That’s a little bit of a change for them.”
Dodd said she and her husband are careful with the girls’ campaign appearances, but they do want the children by their sides as much as possible.
“We’re older parents, and I’m not traveling without my babies,” she said. “Most people who know Chris know he thought the blessing of childhood was going to pass him by. We just don’t want to miss out on any of this wonderful time with the children.”
