Mitt Romney opened his wallet again, loaning his campaign $8.5 million for the third quarter. Romney’s self-financing has been criticized by other campaigns. For example, Republican Ron Paul’s son, Dr. Rand Paul, said earlier his Dad actually raised more money than Romney in the second quarter, if you subtracted the sum Romney kicked in himself. But Romney’s campaign released a Fast Facts sheet Thursday, summing up the details. It says that Romney banked more than $18 million for the third quarter. Of that, $8.5 million was his loan, and the other $10 million came from political contrbutions.
