Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee‘s campaign has no plans to release third-quarter fundraising numbers early, spokeswoman Alice Stewart said Tuesday.
Campaigns were required to file their third-quarter earnings with the Federal Election Commission by Oct. 1. While some campaigns, including those of Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, have made their millions of fundraising dollars public, the Huckabee campaign would say only that third-quarter numbers are expected to be stronger than those from the second quarter, when the campaign raised $765,873.
Instead of focusing on numbers, the campaign is encouraged by polling which shows Huckabee leading Fred Thompson in New Hampshire and Iowa.
On Sunday, Huckabee was called “the dark-horse candidate” to win the GOP nomination by former President Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Newt Gringrich, in separate interviews.
