John Edwards isn’t the only presidential candidate who has paid $400 for a haircut. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told a crowd of supporters at a Londonderry house party Saturday that he also paid the hefty price — but for a good cause.
The owner of the Hairbiz Salon in Manchester, whose son is autistic has autism, challenged the Republican candidate and all other presidential hopefuls to get a $400 cut, with the money going toward autism research.
Huckabee also told the crowd on Saturday not to fear his previous life as a pastor because it will help him better relate to Americans as president. From 14-year-old girls who are afraid to tell their families they are pregnant to adults caring for their elderly parents, he said he has seen it all.
“I’ve been with those families at 2 in the morning in the ICU when they have to decide whether to turn the machines off,” he said.
