John McCain announced Thursday that he will begin airing two new television ads in New Hampshire.
The first, which is about 60 seconds long, shows a 31-year-old McCain being interviewed as he smokes a cigarette in a hospital bed. He is asked about his injuries suffered in battle, and then a voice talks about the sacrifices he has made for his country. The second ad, a bit shorter at 30 seconds, is more straight forward, showing McCain on the campaign trail, and with former president Ronald Reagan, before cutting back to a shot of McCain quoting New Hampshire’s state motto, “Live free or die.” He is also launching a new radio ad that combines elements of the two TV spots.
