The internet was all atwitter this week, with news that Christian Bale signed on to “The Fighter.”
The film is set to star Mark Wahlberg as Mickey Ward, the famous Lowell boxer. Bale will play his half brother and trainer, according to Variety.

West Newbury WWE wrestler John Cena was recently named the first celebrity to join the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Wish Ambassador Council, led by basketball legend Michael Jordan.
Cena is one of the foundation’s most requested wish granters.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. It estimates that 27,000 U.S. children fall into [...]

The Merrimack Valley in general, and Andoverites in particular, are a little outraged. Favorite son Jay Leno, has been knocked by Channel 7-WHDH.
The station has vowed not to run Leno’s new primetime show this fall. Instead they plan on starting a 10 p.m. newscast. Why? In my opinion, it’s all about the Benjamins.
