Former Eagle-Tribune staffer Dan Milone sent us in a note, letting us know that his new band, The Something (with two members originally from Methuen — now of Haverhill and Lawrence), is in the running to open for KISS at the Comcast Center on Aug. 7.
The band is part of a vote-based contest presented by Guitar Center. The five bands with the most votes will be judged by KISS themselves and the winner plays on stage with them.
Currently the band is in third/fourth place (it fluctuates with votes). Voting ends in mid-July.
