Bring your appetite and taste the culinary delights of 10 local restaurants this Saturday to The North Andover Youth Center and celebrate over 20 years of volunteerism and North Andover’s youth with the Second Annual Taste of North Andover.
The Taste of North Andover is being held at the North Andover Youth Center,33 Johnson St., North Andover, this Saturday, Feb. 27, from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at www.nayouth.com or at the front desk of the youth center.
Bill Masterson of North Andover, has been on the board for the youth center for 10 years, said, “ This event is really our prime event fundraiser of the year. We use this night to be able to have a lot of fun but to raise money for programs for the youth center and for building maintenance, equipment, to develop new programs and mentoring programs and for new computers.”
The planning of this even started about six months prior with a committee of 20 people. To help defray costs a sponsorship book that will host the schedule for the night’s events as well as the auction items, was offered to local businesses where they could take out ads.
For those people who love to eat the Taste of North Andover boasts ten restaurants this year: Bollywood Grill, Burton’s Grill,The Loft, Joe Fish, Cedar Crest, Stachey’s, Amici’s Pizzeria, LaRosa’s, China Blossom and Taki’s Pizza.
Enjoy restaurant tastings, silent and live auctions, music and dancing. There will be 200 auction items from vacation getaways, sports memorabilia, sports tickets: Red Sox verses Yankees; Patriots and Celtics tickets along with gift baskets.
Doors to the silent auction open at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., restaurants will have set up tables with food. The restaurants take the most popular items from their menus and bring that food to the tasting.
There will be a cash bar as well as dancing and music.
