On Friday, July 10, 2009, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will be open to the public, free of charge. Free admission is sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation as part of their Free “Fun Fridays” program that will provide free admission to a designated Massachusetts museum or attraction for ten Fridays this summer.
Special exhibits currently on display at the Kennedy Library and Museum include “Moon Shot – JFK and Space Exploration,” celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first Moon landing; “Poetry and Power,” presenting documents from the Kennedy Presidential Library Archives that trace the evolution of President Kennedy’s inaugural address; and “The Making of a President,” which explores the elements of John F. Kennedy’s life that prepared him for a life in public service and to seek the nation’s highest office.
The Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the exceptions of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
