Just heard — my favorite “Top Chef” celebrity judge is coming to Lowell.

Here are the details:

ANTHONY BOURDAIN: NO RESERVATIONS
Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 8pm
Lowell Memorial Auditorium

Lowell, MA – The Lowell Memorial Auditorium presents Anthony Bourdain, best-selling author, chef and host of Emmy-nominated No Reservations on the Travel Channel, on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 8 p.m.

Anthony Bourdain, the executive chef at New York’s famed bistro Les Halles, has been dubbed “the bad boy of cuisine” for his rock star look and blunt observations about the world of restaurants, chefs and cooking.  He is the author of the bestselling Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, a candid, hysterical, and sometimes shocking portrait of life in restaurant kitchens that has been translated into over 28 languages.  His book, A Cook’s Tour, published in conjunction with his series on the Food Network, was also a bestseller in the U.S. and the U.K.

His widely popular Emmy nominated show, No Reservations, wrapped up its fifth season in March with a new season set to air this summer on the Travel Channel.  On his show, Bourdain encounters both familiar culinary hotspots and out-of-the-way gems in his global quest for the ultimate dining experience.  Along the way, Bourdain offers his perspective on both the food and the local customs he comes across in his travels.

A contributing authority for Food Arts magazine, his work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times and Gourmet.  He has shared his insights about team building and crisis management with the Harvard Business Review.  He has also been profiled by CBS Sunday Morning and Nightline and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Tickets are $39.50, $49.50 and $75.00 ($75.00 VIP ticket includes a meet and greet with Anthony after the show) and go on sale Monday, June 1, 2009 at 10 a.m.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium box office located at 50 East Merrimack Street in Lowell, by calling the box office at (978) 454-2299 or online at www.lowellauditorium.com.  Anthony will speak for 60 minutes followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.
