That’s right, the former star of “Pretty in Pink” and “Less Than Zero” and more recently “Boston Legal,” will tread the boards on the Great White Way in David Mamet’s new play, “Race” this winter.

Spader’s local connection: His mother was a beloved teacher at The Pike — where he attended school. His father also taught at Brooks here in North Andover.

It is wonderful to see James Spader get an opportunity to put his considerable acting talents to use on the stage. After successfully performing in many films, plus his recent award winning stint on TV it is great that David Mamet is giving him the opportunity to perform on the biggest stage in all of theatre...Broadway. Best wishes to Mr. Mamet and to Mr. Spader..."break a leg".
