Andover native, Jay Leno, is scheduled to leave “The Tonight Show” soon, yet he’ll be back this fall on NBC with a five-day a week comedy show.

NBC recently announced its fall line up, and had this to say about their controversial decision to bring Jay Leno on every night at 10 p.m. (remember how WHDH/Channel 7 wanted to axe our favorite comedians show?)

Clearly, every day, we are more and more happy with the Jay Leno decision as he gets his highest ratings in six years and has the highest momentum,” said Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. “The mood is clearly looking to comedy. As we look across the networks and see that the average 10 p.m. rating is in the low 2s β€” the 2.2. range β€” it’s looking more and more like, what’s the bar?
