Here’s who we think will get eliminated on tonight’s show. As always, we each need to make a different pick, which means it is to a point where each contestant is chosen by someone. We’ll have to come up with a new system for next week, but until then, here are our picks:
Jo-Anne MacKenzie (New Hampshire Editor): Lil - I wanted to vote for Scott. It was a real mistake to show that old Halloween footage. He’ll be gone, no doubt, but Eric beat me to the punch. That left me with Lil, who flickered, flared and burned out in a few short weeks.
I just have to add that having contestants sing from the year they were born is stupid. How about songs with their favorite color in the title? Songs by bands with no member over 5 feet tall? Song titles that are palindromes? Makes about as much sense.
Marc Fortier (Sunday Editor): Allison - I picked Allison because Scott was already gone when I tried to send in my pick at 9 a.m. How early do I have to wake up to get my pick in anyway??? What’s the earliest I can vote? 4 a.m.?
Jarret Bencks (Reporter and the Postmaster): Matt - By the time I made my pick, I only had two contestants to chose from - Adam and Matt. I was initially tempted to pick Adam because he’s from Los Angeles, and I think they already have enough famous people out there. But according multiple sources familiar with American Idol competition, Adam is not going home this week. So I picked Matt.
Eric Parry (Reporter): Scott
Emily Moffett (The Intern): Anoop - I’ve been waiting for Anoop to be free to pick for a long time and I finally got him, even though I was wayyy late to make my pick (11:00 am).
I just don’t think he has what it takes– a good voice for example. He’s way too goofy to pull off the hip hop artist thing he said he was going for. And…really? Usher, Anoop?
Rebecca Correa (Former Reporter): Adam
Meghan Carey (Former Reporter, American Idol enthusiast): Kris - It’s funny…I think so few of the contestants could actually win this year, but even fewer are actually in danger of going home. Lil’ and Scott were taken, so I took Kris because the judges didn’t like him last night. I like him a lot, but I’m not America.
Jim Kimble (Reporter): Danny - I went with Danny before and even though I lost, I think he is going to get clipped eventually.
