Idol news from the north

OK, I know how to be a gracious loser. Besides, the crown was getting heavy.

Now that Alexis, my choice for the overall winner, has been tossed back to Memphis, I’ll have to start focusing my energy on the weekly picks. Or maybe I’ll even start watching the show.

I must note that reporter Jarret Bencks has been claiming (very loudly) for two weeks that I physically blocked him from picking Alexis ahead of me. Hmmm. I have to wonder how far the sympathy vote will carry his choice of Danny Gokey.

As for Marc Fortier’s inexplicable glee over my loss, all I can say is, “Lil do you know …”

I’m personally glad the president will pre-empt the show next week. American needs some idle Idol time.

    As someone who does watch the show, I think you (and Alexis) were robbed. She was booted unfairly.

    I think that your office should hold it's own American Idol, because one of your own(Gretchen) Actually believes she is the next Kelly clarkson or Cariie underwood. Just take A ride in a car with her sometime and you will hear her perform like she's in the kodak theatre. The only problem is she actually sings worse than William Hung.

    That's not a bad idea. If we do American Idol, Tribune style, will definitely post the results here.
    I can't say anything about Gretchen's singing abilities (I have not experienced her in-car performances), but I have a feeling if we did hold the contest, we have a lot more Hungs singing that Clarksons.
