Saturday I got the chance to go to an opening party for the new House of Blues in Boston, just across the street from Fenway Park.
The Blues Brothers, aka Jim Belushi and John Aykroyd, were there. The performance was amazing, especially their rendition of the Boston classic “Dirty Water.”
They were joined on stage by James Montgomery and his excellent harmonic — even Carly Simon showed up to get into the groove.
I highly recommend this spot for a concert venue. It offers both the intimacy of a club and yet the comfort of a theater.
You can stand on the floor and second floor balcony, for some great views.
Or there’s stadium seating in a third floor balcony that offers more great views, with the comfort of not being on your feet.
And if you have the disposable cash, the HOB offers a VIP membership that includes perks from first access to upcoming concerts to the ability to host private parties in their luxurious Foundation Room. If you’ve got a few grand you wouldn’t mind parting with, I would definitely look into it.
