This just in, from my colleague Sonya Vartabedian:

Jayne Cousins may not have caught the bouquet, but she’s gaining plenty of attention for her appearance as an extra in the new Kate Hudson/Anne Hathaway flick, “Bride Wars.” Last weekend, about 40 friends and family members celebrated the Merrimac woman’s latest role as an extra. First, the group gathered for food and drinks at a party at the Haverhill home of her friend and co-worker at the IRS office in Andover, Lisa Lombardi. Then it was off to a screening of the movie at the Loews theater at The Loop in Methuen. The theater cheered when Cousins made her first on-screen appearance — she’s among a crowd of women who join Hudson and Hathaway in attempting to catch the bride’s bouquet at a wedding that opens the movie. Cousins isn’t giving up her day job, but she’s loving her side life as an actress. Next up: look for her in the upcoming Kevin James movie, “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.”

Thanks Sonya. This sounds like a blast.

Here are the photos:

And here is a photo from the party. Cousins is in the red tank dress.
