"Edge of Darkness" out in 2009 -- a suspense thriller in which he plays a cop trying to solve his daughter's murder; and "Sam and George" -- scheduled for 2010, in which he plays one of two friends reunited after 20 years. Gibson's character spent those 20 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. So no, Mel's still has a job.
