The best American Idol ever

Mariska Hargitay people.
I thought last night’s show was the best “American Idol” ever, possibly the best concert ever.
I mean, pairing David Cook and ZZ Top? Totally brilliant.
Almost every moment of the show worked, from the performances of the Top 12 with stars like Donna Summer and (OMG!) Bryan Adams to the video presentations | from the wisdom of the Guru Pitka to Galdys Knight and her unexpected Pips.
To cap it all off, Cook wins. I was positive Archuleta was going to take the title, but Cook was a great choice. Can’t wait to see the concert.

I literally jumped off the couch, whoopin’ and hollerin’ when Ryan ordained David Cook as the Idol. This is the Idol upset of the century!! It’s molten lava hot!! I dedicated many, many hours to the show this season and the results were totally worth it. I think David Archuleta will have a great career as Disney’s latest TV/recording star, a la Miley Cyrus or The Jonas Brothers. But David Cook has the makings to actually be successful on the rock/pop charts with a real band. Primarily because he’s a grown up.
There are a few other contestants that I think will do will post Idol: Michael Johns will front a great funk/soul band. Brooke White will be the next Carly Simon/Cheryl Crow. Carly Smithson will be huge in Ireland. Syeshia Mercado will make it big on Broadway. Jason Castro will open for Jack Johnson or Ben Harper soon. And even Kristy Lee Cook could probably do well on the Country circuit. It was a good season. I’m glad I spend soooo many hours with these kids.
BTW: I’m smelling a comeback for Bryan Adams and George Michael.
