Jon Stewart as host

I love Jon Stewart. I am totally devoted to “The Daily Show.”
I still think he’s better behind the desk, than behind a podium.
Still, I don’t think he’s doing badly — though I can’t believe he opened with the “makeup sex joke.” That was barely funny.
The thing I like about Stewart is his irreverence — like his jab at the Vanity Fair party (canceled to support the writers. Stewart quipped “Maybe they could have invited writers this year.). His Diablo Cody joke — about the paycut she took, going from an exotic dancer to a screenwriter — also classic.
Stewart seemed at his best and his most comfortable when he talked about politics. He spread the mirth among both parties, taking jabs at McCain’s age, Clinton’s husband and Obama’s name.
Stewart is also doing well spreading the humor throughout the telecast.
During breaks people there are making catty remarks about us? Nice.
