So you’re not interested in the Super Bowl, Feb. 3 . . .

Several stations are planning “counter programming” during the big game.
Today TNT announced it would show a “marathon” of its hit series “The Closer” starring Kyra Sedgwick, showing nine episodes of the series starting at noon.
This is one of the smartest cop “dramedys” on television. Sedgwick gives a nice edge to her Brenda Lee Johnson, a brilliant southern sleuth hooked on candy.
Sister station, TBS, will show a series of chick flicks, starting at 9:30 a.m. with “The Perfect Man,” followed by “Save the Last Dance,” “What Women Want,” “Fools Rush In,” “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” and “The Wedding Planner.”
Check back — as I figure out what other stations are up to, I’ll post it here.

I just hope animal planet doesn’t show the puppy bowl again. How is puppy’s running around a replica football stadium entertainment.

Jim,
Puppies running around a replica football stadium is definitely entertainment. And there is a kitty half-time show. Sure, you can’t watch it for more than 5 minutes at a time, but it’s fun to flip back to between Super Bowl commercials.Puppy Bowl begins at 3 p.m. on Animal Planet.
