hi,
This group is so nice and one of them, Salem News Student-Athlete Award has been a showcase for the best and the brightest of North Shore high schools. It's become more excited when we celebrate any party in a group. But there is one time come when we have to leave out from the group.

I totally agree! I love digital compared to print - I hated having to develop the pics.... now it's just a quick button to upload and photoshop and voila!! Love it!

Fascinating reading about the details of this shot. Do you have a larger version of the final shot that you could put online?

hey matt-

i took the picture from across the room with a 200mm lens, so the girls had no idea i was taking their photo. most of the time, even if you are right in someone's face, they pay no attention to the camera (or at least try to.) there are occasions, however, when you just have to tell the person to ignore you.

How do you get these kinds of candid shots? Do you take so many photos that they finally get used to you being there or do you tell them to not look at the camera?

Thanks,
Matt

Roger, you did the right thing.
A responsible journalist does exactly what you did.

Roger I commend you for doing the right thing. A human life is far more valuable then a photograph.

These are Darkroom photographs, thats always fun to see. Do you feel like photographers tried harder when shooting when they didn't have photoshop to help them out or is it just faster and more convenient to be digital?
