According to MIAA.net, the Methuen-AB and Lowell Somerville boys games have been ppd to tomorrow. I’m also told that both North Andover games slated at Lawrence High have been postponed as well till tomorrow.
So glad that one of out bloggers brought up the subject of the MIAA and the cash. How about the deal in these home games in the state tourney. The MIAA takes 50 percent of the ticket revenue off the top. Then the home team gets the other half and has to pay the bills. [...]

Good high school games, like prize fights, are often about styles. And the Central Catholic/Lawrence/Valley style certainly meshes well with St. John’s. It always makes, seemingly, for excitement. Last year’s first half at the Garden might have been the most entertaining 16 minutes of high school hoop I’ve ever seen, 47-46, or something like that? [...]

Defending champ Andover, at 22-0, clearly earned the top seed in Division 1 North on the girls side of the MIAA sectional basketball tournament.
