Luis Puello’s ankle will again keep him out of the lineup tonight for Central-Andover.
Not totally sure what to make of this one, other than the fact it will be look at the Dunn Gym tonight.
Have to admit, the bloggage back and forth here has been a little weak this week. Maybe I kicked it off on my Christmas tourney refs’ rant. Hey, I’ve been to 8 games this winter, and it’s the only one I complained about.
But the officials’ clique chimed in, followed by the Lawrence folks and finally both sides in the pro-Central, anti-Central debate. It just wasn’t pretty.
It’s too bad the CC-Andover game is tonight. Very tempted to take to the road and head to the Lakes Region in NH where Noah Vonleh and New Hampton travel to Brewster Academy, with Andover’s Joe Bramanti.
But CC and Andover is too good to pass up.\

No LP, that is disappointing.  Thought he would have to be restrained to not play in this one.  Gives Andover a chance.
    Go Raiders!

Central down 2 at the half but no one near me said “Uh oh, we’re in trouble.”  I had CC by 12 without Luis and 18-20 with him.  They won by 10.  Hard fought game.  Good win, given that TN had, I think, four free throws for a total of four pts.  Took only one shot.  But the kid has a great sense of the game and does not a) force shots or b) make bad plays. He allows the game to come to him.  Great command for a young kid.  It appeared to me that the game plan was to simply push him out of bounds at every opportunity and dare the officials to call fouls, which they did not.  Meanwhile, Dougie Gemmel just lit it up, and you wonder if there’s a single kid on the Central roster who won’t bury the 3 as all starters (with Luis) have now hit at least one.

    Three final observations:

$8.00 tickets at Andover?  Really?  What, has the price of yellow windbreakers gone up?

The Faz Show is growing weak.  While I admire the guy’s passion, arguing EVERY SINGLE CALL has become very, very tedious.

And finally, big kudos to the Central Student Section.  You’re out again in force and it will be good for 4-6 pts. at home.

John I have to agree with you on the $8.00 ticket prices. What was that all about? Why weren’t the ticket prices less for students or senior citizens? Who made this decision and why?

I thought both student sections acted properly and with good taste. The Central kids showed up in full force tonite to support their team. Great job and great fan section for a road game.

Some other thoughts about the game. Great job by Lucas Hamel and Sean Mccoy on defending Costello. Both of these guys did an awesome job when called on by RN to guard Andover’s best offensive player. Also Hamel had a some extremely nice inside passes for a couple of easy Central hoops.

I hope Luis heals quickly the CCH faithful eagerly await his return.

Agree with you Jim on the game recap and also thought that Henry, Mike B and Nick gave very good minutes and allowed the starters to rest.

The $8 dollars was ridiculous when the rest of the MVC is around $5 and you could see 4 games for $7 dollars at the xmas tourney.  Next thing you know they will be charging for parking or putting up toll booths as you enter Andover on game days.

Hector, the CC website says that the game with Lawrence has been rescheduled.  Do you know if they have just moved up the time or has it been moved to another day?  Thanks for looking into it.
