While his decision had been made for over a month, Zack Lattrell couldn’t be sure until he got the acceptance letter.
The All-Scholastic linebacker for Central Catholic Latrell will play his college ball in the Ivy League for Brown University.
“I’m really excited, it’s a huge weight off my shoulders,” said Lattrell.
“It’s just a great fit. I mean I love how they play football there. But football is semi-important. It’s an Ivy League school, and for me, education has been and is No. 1. Academics is always my first focus.”
Lattrell follows a solid local flow of talent to Brown, headlined by current New York Giant Zak DeOssie of North Andover and Phillips Academy and including reigning Ivy league co-MVP Buddy Farnham of Andover.
“It was a huge weight off my shoulders, and now I can really focus on wrestling,” said the Raider 215-pounder. “I can stay on top of my school work and know that I’m going to a great school next year.”
