Some how, and I’ve yet to receive an explanation so I will take the hit and apologize, this week’s video Fantastic Four was not uploaded or downloaded or posted or whatever needs to be done to it to get on the blog.
I apologize to Andrew Sinkewicz of Georgetown and coach Matt Bouchard for interrupting their practice and yielding no results. There is, by the way, a pretty darn good piece with the Royals’ Chris Esposito on www.rallynorth.net that you might want to take a peek at, though.
I’ll be honest and fess up, I had it 1. Andover, 2. Salem, NH, 3. Methuen, 4. Pinkerton Academy.
And of course, almost on cue, Andover gets pasted by Gloucester.
Tough Thursday night for one Dave Dyer, who goes 2-2 to my 3-1.
Into Friday, the lead is now a much more comfy 2 games.
Here are the rest of my weekend picks:

Greater Lawrence (0-1) at South Boston (0-0)

Southie might be from the traditionally weak BOston City league, but you have to respect the program off one of its best seasons in history.

Southie 22, Bamboo’s Boys 9

Concord (1-1) at Londonderry (0-2)

Kind of fish or cut bait time for the Lancers.
I say Lambert lands a Lancer lunker.
LHS 13, CHS 3

MERRIMACK (0-2) at Timberlane (1-1)

Timberlane has been a pleasant surprise so far and has that playoff look.

Dom LaRosa and a growing offensive line bulk up and get it done.

Owls claw T-Hawks, 23-0

Amesbury (0-1) at North Andover (0-1)

Knights Knights Knights Win win win. (It’s an old school Mike Cavanaugh thing, folks)

NA 18, Ames 7

Tewksbury (1-0) at Lawrence (0-1)
The Redmen can’t beat Lawrence, but will the Lancers beat themselves?
If Lawrence doesn’t get careless late in the first half, throwing the football around in the final minutes with a two-TD lead and then coughing up a fumble in the last minute, the Lancers pound Lynn English.
Still, my heart says the welcome back to the MVC will be a joyous one.

Lawtown 23, Redcoats 21

Haverhill (0-1) at Catholic Memorial (1-0)

The Hillies are up against it again.
CM 36-6

Campbell (0-2) at PELHAM (1-1)

Pride and tradition mean plenty, so do the athletes in the Pelham backfield.
Pythons 42-0

SALEM (2-0) at MEMORIAL (1-1)

A week ago, I might have said this would be a game.
Then Salem got its swagger on against Londonderry and Memorial took a beating at Pinkerton.

B-Devs 16, Mem 0

north reading (1-0) at NEWBURYPORT (1-0)

Took to win at the Clip joint with a loaded arsenal. The Hornets are just too thin.

Gaudiano’s crew hits the Wall from the Port side. (I’ve got a million of ‘em folks)
Nbpt 24, NRHS 6

Lynnfield (1-0) at georgetown (0-0)

Lynnfield shoots and Espo scores on the rebound.

No Joe, but that’s OK.

Royals win, 19-9

SATURDAY’S GAMES

Manchester West (0-2) at Pinkerton (1-1)

Pinkerton would win the MVC this year in a walk.
Yeah, I said it.
But There is no depth in NH. This lack of competition will get annoying at some point.

Stros 77, West 3

Methuen (1-0) at Malden (1-0)

Young team on the road, feeling its oats a little bit???
The Rangers bounce and struggle.
Mald 23, Methuen 21

Merrimack Valley (0-2) at SANBORN (0-2)

Drouin gets on the board
Don’t let me down Indians. I believe.

Sanborn 8, MV 6

you're such a terrible writer haha...you pick the dumbest scores...i cant stand reading your material! its awful! you have no knowledge of football...NONE
  • Name
You don't have to be so rude. If you don't like what he writes don't read it. As far as his picks your right he only likes N.H. football teams. For some reason he wants N.H. teams to be better than what they are. O.K., H.L. fab # 4 will be Salem N.H. # 1, Pickerton ( C.C. of N.H. ) # 2, He will move up someone from N.H. as # 3 and Methuen ( and I'll use his words ) who can play a little as # 4.

"P i n k e r t o n" is correct spelling and Hector is not biased toward NH just look at his basketball picksd during the winter!
  • hectorlongohectorlongo
And this on a week when I picked Lawrence. Wow, where's the love?
Oh yeah, and who rocked the board this week in HS football? Me, that's who.

Sorry, Basketball, even at Pinkerton ( C.C. of N.H. ) can't compete with Ma. teams. The only thing N.H. has going for them is football at Pinkerton ( C.C. of N.H. ) that is it. Why is everyone getting sorry mad about. It's been like this ( Ma. teams being better than N.H. teams ) forever. H.L. is so wrong about high school football it's sad. I really don't think the way Methuen is playing football that they could beat them. I say Pinkerton would finish 2nd to Methuen is they were in the small M.V.C.. But having over 4000 kids in there school they would have to be in the large M.V.C..
  • J
Name, What was the score to the Nashua South vs. Lowell game this passed friday? Lowell has 4000 students?
  • David97
1st of all lowell does not have 4000 kids. Stop making things up. I'm happy that a N.H. team beat a Ma. team. Think about it, how bad is lowell if they did lose to a N.H. team.
  • J
David97, I was joshing the same way that the person did saying that Pinkerton has over 4000. Also explain why NH is not as good?
  • Name
1st of all, pinkerton does have over 4000 kids in it's school. Alot of N.H. town kids go there and you can pay for any kid to attend. Just like C.C. Ma. have big city's and large towns. Small towns in N.H. can't get that many kids to get a good program going. But at pinkerton if your good and come from a small town or just want to get into there program than you could go there and leave your town with even less to choose from.
  • Stead
Once again, as in other posts you are wrong about every single one of your facts. Pinkerton has three towns that send their kids, Derry, Hampstead, and Chester (also about 20 kids from Auburn) The combined population of all of these towns is less that that of Methuen. Pinkerton has 3400 students not 4000. Pinkerton, Bishop Guertin, Nashua South, Salem, and Exeter would all beat Methuen this year. Bishop Guertin and Pinkerton would be in contention for winning the MVC large every year if they played there.
  • Name
Please, pinkerton has 4000 kids call the school and you will see. If you live in N.H. and want to send your kid to the school you could at a cost. No matter were you live. So please come with facts not B.S.
  • Stead
From the Department of education website, http://www.ed.state.nh.us/education/data/Report...

Pinkerton enrollment 3342, and there are only three players at any level in PA football that pay to come from other towns. check your facts

Wrong again, stop making things up. 1st there were kids only from ( and I'll use your words ) Derry, Hampstead, and Chester (also about 20 kids from Auburn). Now there are only 3 that pay. Come on, It's alright if some of pinkerton football star players come from other parts of N.H.. Pinkerton is the C.C. of N.H..
