We have a winner, and it’s Cuse in the House with 36 points.
A gallant effort by JMcVeigh pulling in second at 32. The rest of us should be ashamed of ourselves for not knowing that this thing was just the Tar Heel invitational.
Cuse, e-mail me, hlongo@eagletribune.com, with the restaurant of your choice for the $25 gift card. Myself, I’ve been craving a trip to the Texas Roadhouse. That would be my choice.
Instead, I’ll be taking an extra $10 out of my own pocket as promised and ship you a DD’s gift card. You didn’t just beat me, you pummeled me.
Thanks to all for playing, and please tell your friends.
The Creature wishes best of luck to Haverhill’s Carlos Pena and the Rays in their quest to knock off the two icon franchises in baseball, who feel as though it’s OK to bludgeon the competition by spending up to five times as much for players.
Come on, Carlos. Get your boys going again and bury the fat-cat Sox and the grotesque Yanks.
My Pena prediction (with Pat Burrell and a coming Evan Longoria for protection): .284, 36 HRs, 109 RBIs.
Go get em!!!
And great job by Andover Ryan Hanigan for making the Reds. He outplayed Ramon Hernandez in the spring (when Hernandez returned from the WBC). I say Hanigan is the starter by July 4, despite the $8 mill a year the Reds misspent on Ramon.
Please pray the weather clears, so the spring season can fully commence. Can’t wait to see John Farrell, Shawn Carlson, john Hennessy and Andover, the stacked Central Raiders, the rest of the diamond dandies out there.
Coming Tuesday: My baseball predictions from around the region in the MVC, CAL and NH plus my first Fantastic Four, the baseball version, of the spring.
