Central wins!

Raiders hit their free throws in the final minutes and prevailed 59-48. They finish the season 3-1 against Lowell.

The Red Raiders are making their run. They just scored four straight buckets to cut the lead to 49-43. Katie Zenevitch — who’s playing with four fouls — just hit one of two free throws to make it 50-43. Craziness.

On fire…

Central Catholic just outscored Lowell 18-7 in the third quarter. The Raiders exploded after intermission, going on a 14-2 run to open the third. The lead is now 41-31. I don’t think the Red Raiders are going anywhere though. Should be a pretty exciting fourth…

The Royals are dominating in the paint. They just opened the second half on an 8-0 run to open up a 40-28 lead. New Mission is going to start pressing any moment now.

Georgetown has a 32-28 lead at the half. Taryn O’Connell leads all scorers with 13 points. She’s gotten pretty much anything she wants inside. New Mission guard Nyesha Kelley has been pretty good herself. She has 11 points. The G-Town crowd deserves a mention. Their section is about 75 percent full. That’s a nice turnout. [...]

Central Catholic trails Winchester 2-1 with 6:22 left in the must-win Super 8 third game. Winchester jumped out to the lead just 2:08 into regulation, but the Raiders struck right back on a Cam Fisichelli goal on a slap shot from the left faceoff circle 1:10 later.
