My apologies on today’s Eagle-Tribune. Meant to have the weekly scoring leaders in there, but with all the hoop action, we ran out of time.
I will have them ready for print, when space permits, either Monday or Tuesday.
Again, sorry about that.

Because of the snow, the No. 2 Brockton boys will now come to Andover, Monday at 3 p.m. for the varsity tip.

Sorry about not live-blogging from Springfield where Central Catholic battled American Heritage of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to an 82-77 loss.
I can not take the blame. The wireless access was horrendous, to the point where i couldn’t hook in.
I promise plenty on the Raiders and the HoopHall Classic here and in tomorrow’s Eagle-Tribune, though.
First things first. [...]

Before we hit the hardwood I want to talk baseball, just for a minute.
First, there is the opening at Masconomet, one of the marquee Division 2 programs in EMass.
After only two seasons, Joe Marchesi is moving on. What a great program to inherit.
Talked to ex-coach Pete Delani and he says although he thoroughly enjoyed his [...]

A couple points after watching Central knock off Lawrence before a nice crowd.
While lawrence continues to struggle mightily on offense, you have to like the game played by Carson Desrosiers, who answered Lawrence’s physical challenge.
Kind of a ho-hum game, but I’m sure Ricky Nault will take it.
One note that missed the newspaper story, I apologize. [...]

Let it go!

I will make three quick comments:
1. Saying I want to “banish Central” is a bold, unequivocal lie, one that won’t be tolerated on this blog.
2. This blog is a sports blog, not a forum to debate the merits of public vs. private education. My take was that the MVC would be just an average run-of-the-mill [...]

All right, now that I’ve gotten your attention, I’m just stating that instead of a top 10, I’m tired of reaching for those teams that just don’t deserve the notoriety.
Therefore, Longo’s Top 10 in football, boys basketball and baseball will now be pared down.
In honor of Andover’s Mike Chiklis, who was such a gentleman [...]

All right, you have to shake your head and wonder what the schedule makers were thinking.
From now on, Central-Andover boys is a Friday night game, folks. Friday, not Tuesday, Friday.
Expect the crowd to be down for this one, because of the night, but that doesn’t diminish the game.
Tough to figure what happens when these teams [...]

I will say that the pro-Central, anti-Central crowd is like the Obama vs. the right agenda. It’s all so precise, nobody will give an inch.
Nobody can sit in the middle. Say 99 good things about Central and one, “Eh” comment and you feel the wrath of what one CC guy once dubbed lovingly the, “Central [...]

Congrats to Central Catholic on a tidy, business-like Christmas tourney win.
Optimist, pessimist, I don’t know where this leaves me, but if I’m the rest of the MVC and the rest of D1 for that matter, I do not want to see the “other” Raiders step it up like they did against Andover.
Simply put, when Michael [...]
