I’m down eight games and need to make some noise ASAP.
Here goes:
Friday’s Games
Methuen at Central
Flip a coin folks. I can’t figure out either club. Central looked like it was on cruise control against Tewksbury on offense, but played spirited defense until the final 12 minutes.
Methuen thumped Tewks but kind of shot itself in the foot last time out.
We’ll take the hunch and stick with Central.

NORTH ANDOVER (2-5) at TRITON (4-3)
At some point it clicks for North Andover, which is big, talented and very green. We say it’s this week.
Knights of Chickering Road 23, Vikes of the marshlands 13
LOWELL (4-3) at ANDOVER (3-4)
The best thing I’ve done for Andover is pick against them as they’ve burned me all three times. That said, I’ll try again.
Lowellians 24, Andover 21
DRACUT (6-1) at HAVERHILL (1-6)
Haverhill will win the first half but the titanic upset is barely averted.
Middies 19, Hillies 14
MaNCHESTER WEST (1-7) at SALEM (3-5)
Mop-up time for the Blue Devils, who host a very young, outmanned West squad.
Salem 26, West 6
TIMBERLANE (6-2) at SPAULDING (0-8)
Spaulding get your foot of the boat!
Timberlane 28-0
STEVENS (3-4) at PELHAM (7-0)
Even Stevens has to respect what Bruce Vieira and the crew have going here.
P-town 39, Claremont kids 12
Nobles (4-2) at Brooks (2-4)
As young and inexperienced a squad as Brooks has returned, I give them credit for the two wins. They will come to play, but the Noble effort is too much.
Nobles 28, Brooksers 17
SATURDAY’S GAMES
Lawrence (4-3) at Pentucket (4-3)
This place has been a minefield for Lawrence, and I expect the soft turf to suit the Sachems just fine. Pentucket can’t go 0-4 at home, right?
Penty 31, Lawtown 23
North Reading (4-3) at Newburyport (3-5)
Another playoff game for the 3-5 Portsiders.
Nbpt 23, NR 9
Manchester Central (7-1) at Pinkerton (6-2)
Nobody’s mentioned the name Eric Guinto, which leads me to believe, he’s going to be shelved until the playoffs.
Little Green 19, Big Red 13
Hamilton-Wenham (4-3) at Georgetown (6-0)
Hoyas can’t be looking ahead to the Port, can they?
Nah.
G’town 13, H-W 0
Londonderry (6-2) at Nashua South (5-3)
The South rises again.
Panthers of Purple 23, Londonderry 16
Lynn tech (3-4) at Gr. Lawrence (2-5)
Tigers the only team left in Whittier’s way. They survive another.
LT 27, Reggies 17
Whittier (5-2) at Gr. Lowell (2-5)
Bradley’s boys are on the fast-track to the postseason, and the Gryphons pose little threat.
WT 19, GLT 8
Sanborn (1-7) at Plymouth (8-0)
Another character-builder for the upstart Indians.
Plymouth 24, Sanborn 0
Phillips Academy (5-1) at Worcester Academy (0-6)
All Big Blue
PA 33, Worcester 0
