Note: Dave Dyer had Lawrence over NA last night. Here are the rest of his choices.
TEWKSBURY (2-4)
at Central Catholic (3-3)

Both teams have been impressive at times and sluggish at other times. Tewksbury is coming in on a high, having blanked Chelmsford, 21-0, last week behind Joel Altavesta’s 189 yards and three TDs. The loser of this game will have a tough time finishing above .500 in the MVC.
Central Catholic 20, Tewksbury 16

Andover (2-4)
at haverhill (1-5)

Will Andover focus on the run or pass? Will it recover from its 55-25 pasting from Dracut last week? Can Haverhill put together two good halves? Too many questions.
Andover 24, Haverhill 20

Nashua North (3-4)
at Londonderry (5-2)

The Titans believe they should have beaten Salem last week and will give Londonderry problems. But not enough.
Londonderry 26, Nashua North 17

Salem (3-4)
at Concord (3-4)

You can’t get more even than this game. Both teams are averaging 19 points a game, give up about 22 points a game and own the same record. Salem will need to play better than last week.
Salem 20, Concord 15

Timberlane (5-2)
at Winnacunnet (1-6)

The Owls are basking over last week’s upset of unbeaten defending Division 2 state champion Exeter, but they had better not take Winnacunnet lightly. Winnacunnet played its best game of the season last week, ripping Alvirne 35-6 behind Steve Cronan’s three TD passes.
Timberlane 27, Winnacunnet 14

Georgetown (5-0)
at Ipswich (0-5)

If the Royals stay focused, they shouldn’t have a problem this week. Ipswich’s record is a bit misleading as the Tigers are only being outscored by 11.8 points a game.
Georgetown 28, Ipswich 7
Saturday’s Games

Wilmington (5-1)at Pentucket (4-2)

Both teams are smarting from tough losses last week. Wilmington was stunned by Lawrence, 34-33, despite three TDs by Evan Butters. With slightly more talent, Pentucket SHOULD prevail.
Pentucket 20, Wilmington 14

Nashua South (5-2) at Pinkerton (5-2)

The Astros, who always seem to play well in big games, have played a stronger non-league schedule. The Astros are potent, especially if Eric Guinto (shoulder) is healthy, but South’s first defense hasn’t allowed a point the last three games.
PICK: Pinkerton 30, Nashua South 15

Watertown (2-5) at nORTH rEADING (3-3)

Watertown is the only independent team in Eastern Mass. On paper, this looks like a toss-up.
Watertown 14, North Reading 7

Shawsheen (4-3)
at Whittier (4-2)

Incredibly, the winner of this game will probably qualify for the playoffs as the Commonwealth Large representative. Whittier will have to contain Cory Foss (7 TDs).
Whittier 25, Shawsheen 20

West Roxbury (1-5)
at GrEATER Lawrence (1-5)

The Reggies have played well the last two weeks and are on more of an upswing than West Roxbury.
Westie does own a three-game winning streak over the Reggies with victories in the 1987, 1993 and 1995 Eastern Mass. Super Bowls.
Greater Lawrence 26, West Roxbury 12

St. Thomas (6-0)
at Pelham (6-0)

In a matchup of two of the four remaining unbeatens in the Granite State, Pelham has Division 5’s most potent offense (192 points) and the Saints boast the stingiest defense (62 points).
Pelham 28, St. Thomas 25

Hanover (4-3)
at Sanborn (1-6)

Hanover has standout sophomore Christian Harris (118 carries, 923 yards), and too much depth for the hustling Indians.
Hanover 28, Sanborn 7

Deerfield (4-1) at Phillips Academy (4-1)

Deerfield is coming off an impressive 16-0 win over Phillips Exeter and will create all kinds of problems.
Phillips Academy 27, Deerfield 21

Thayer (0-5)
at Brooks (1-4)

Whichever team is more emotionally charged up will prevail.
Brooks 19, Thayer 13
Big weekend in N.H. football

Nashua South and Pinkerton, who are tied atop the Division 1 leaderboard, will square off tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Derry.
Forty miles away and a half hour later, Pelham will take on St. Thomas Aquinas in Dover. Even more will be on the line in that one as the Pythons and the Saints are two of the four unbeaten teams in the state (Pinkerton and South have non-league losses).
South’s first defense hasn’t allowed a point in the last three games, so Pinkerton fans have their fingers crossed that blazing fast back Eric Guinto (13 TDs) will play. He was knocked out of last week’s showdown with Brockton with a bruised shoulder.
If he can’t go (it’s a game-time decision), Matt Mangano has proved a worthy substitute. He showed his moxie with two scores against the Boxers, who are ranked 18th in Eastern Mass.
South beat the Astros last year in the regular-season finale, but the Astros bounced back to settle the score in the title game.
This year’s Panther club is led by running backs David Zocco and Corey Boudreau and QB Keith Farkas (181 passing yards last week.)
Both clubs are 5-0 in Division 1 and 5-2 overall.
Meanwhile, in the Divison 5 showdown, both teams enter with flawless 6-0 marks and 5-0 in the division. The host club is a long-time power while the Pythons are novices to elite status with last year’s unbeaten club its first ever championship squad.
As always, Bruce Vieira is No. 1, 2 and 3 on opponents’ must stop list. But Vieira keeps chugging along with 13 TDs despite missing two games. They’ve also received fine play from alternating quarterbacks Joe DeAngelo and Josh Luciano.
St. Thomas is led by Rod Wotton, the winningest coach in New England schoolboy history, and running back Zach Merrigan is a consistent 100-yard rusher.
