Koerner dazzles, but Rangers fall to powerhouse Prep, 2-0.

Methuen had to pick up a little confidence, even in an opening day, 2-0, defeat at St. John’s Prep.
Dave Koerner dazzled on the mound in defeat, allowing what looked to be only one hit, a fact that bodes well for the Rangers. Great to see Koerner back from the broken leg in football.
Methuen simply couldn’t generate any offense. And when it did the Prep flashed the leather.
Andover’s Dan Haugh, at short for the Prep, started a pair of spectacular double plays, to help out his pitcher.
Plenty of positives all around on both sides.
