The only thing keeping Lowell in it right now are the whistles with Central being “charged” with 14 fouls, compared to Lowell’s seven.
Tim Wheeler has three fouls for Central, while guards Billy Marsden and Wilfredo Pagan were hit with two cheapies apiece, missing time.
Lowell is a whopping 14-18 from the foul line in the half, compared to its 10 of 25 effort in the whole game against Everett.
Meanwhile, Central, continues to attack the hoop but has only 7 of 11 from the stripe.
The big studs have come to play on both sides:
Marsden has nine points, and Adrian Gonzalez has a dozen.
Carson Desrosiers has four points with eight blocks.
Jaime Shannon leads lowell with 8, including a dazzling double-pump buzzer beater over the 6-foot-9 Desrosiers.
Matt Welch has six for Lowell.
OK, the MIAA finally has made a mistake in an otherwise flawless day, forcing Central’s shirtless students, with “G-0 C-E-N-T-R-A-L-!” spelled out on their rock-hard abs, to put shirts on.
Time for the second half tipoff.
