The Central Catholic girls hoop squad is on fire. The Raiders absolutely hammered Lexington down the stretch Monday night.
They’re sizzling at the right time, just like last year.
Katie Zenevitch is quickly becoming a star. Her line last night (20 points, 16 boards, 6 blocks, 4 assists) was gaudy. Looks like colleges are starting early. Holy Cross coach Bill Gibbons was in attendance at Wilmington High and spoke to Central coach Sue Downer afterward. It’s unclear who else is interested (so far), but expect the scouts and coaches to multiply exponentially by next winter.
The Raiders looked like a vastly different club that went 1-2 in the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tournament. Like last year, they’re really concentrating on pushing the ball up the floor, with Jackie Vienneau leading the break.
