Tuesday’s Central Catholic boys basketball game vs. Charlestown, which had been scheduled for Lawrence High, has been moved to Reading High. Central A.D. Pete Paladino said the switch was made yesterday morning to make the game more centrally located.
Tip-off for the Division 1 North semifinal game is still at 7 p.m. The Raiders are the fourth seed in the sectional and the Townies are the top seed.
As for now, Wednesday night’s Lowell-Everett game is still slated for Lawrence High at 7 p.m.

The MIAA is so inconsistent with site selection. They also bow down to the Boston Schools so easily. For years the Division 5 Super Bowls where played in Boston (White Stadium, etc) and there was no problem in their minds. Two years ago Whittier Tech plays Arlington Catholic in the football semis in Arlington rather than Lowell.

    Great point.
I can’t help but thinking this has something to do with the Charlestown-Andover beef of two years ago.
    Anyways, my suggestions are:
    1. Get to Reading early.
    2. Bring a warm coat and comfortable walking shoes, because there is so little parking near the gym, everybody ends up hiking a mile to get there.

    Hector,
I’m not sure if you’ve been to a game at Reading High this year, but they have completed the building of the new high school and the renovations to the gym. There’s a new larger parking lot on the opposite side of the school from the gym, plus the smaller lot behind the gym. They’ll definitely be a long line of traffic getting in to the parking lot because of the weird intersection near the entrance to the school, but if you have enough patience to wait it out you should be able to find a spot in the lots. For those of you lacking patience park along the street or in the middle school across the street and start walking, but remember to bring your umbrella.
