If you’re in need of a high school basketball fix, and the preseason lull’s got you down, check out the National Prep Showcase next week.
The event, which will be held from Nov. 16-18 at UMass Lowell, will feature 20 of the top prep teams in the country. Plenty of Division 1 talent will be on display. According to tournament organizer Jeff Goodman, more than 150 D-1 college coaches were in attendance last year when the tourney was held at Assumption College.
Here are couple of players scheduled to be in the house:
-John Riek, a 7-foot-2 Sudan native who plays at Winchendon School.
-Mike Howlett, a 6-8 forward from Amesbury who plays at New Hampton Prep.
